Day 3 was tough as well but the spectacular scenery made it worthwhile.
A detour to Natural Monument Roque Noble offered more beautiful scenery.
At the top the trail after Roque Noble followed a ridge line offering majestic mountain and valley views.
The weather for January even up here in the mountains is pleasant. Warm days and cool evenings.
The day ended at Cruz de Tejeda where there was a Parador. Tempting, but I chose to walk down the trail to Tejeda to stay at the wonderful Hostel Finca de Isa where I shared a 6 bed room with fellow travelers though no other pilgrims. The room had a sofa and fireplace which made for a cozy evening.
