In Canterbury ready to start the 2,000 kilometer Via Francigena Pilgrimage to Rome following in the footsteps of Archbishop Sigeric who walked the route circa 990 in order to receive his Pallium from the Pope. Here I am at the first Pilgrimage Marker next to the Cathedral.

We were met by Vice Dean Canon Tim Naish who took us to the spot in the Cathedral where A Shrine to Thomas Becket was until 1538 when it was destroyed by King Henry VIII.

He blessed our pilgrimage with a beautiful prayer.
