Camino Via de la Plata (VDLP)

A 1,000 Kilometer Pilgrimage from Seville in the south of Spain to Santiago de Compostela. This route follows an old silver road used by the Romans and brimming with Roman antiquities. There are alternatives at Zamora and afterwards. In Granja de Moreruela many pilgrims veer west onto Camino Sanabres. It is also possible to continue on VDLP north to Astorga and connect with Camino Frances.

Perhaps the Finest Meñu Del Dia on Camino Sanabres Or Any Camino:

On a cold day on the 31st day of the Camino Levante we arrived in Rionegro del Puente and made a beeline for Teo’s restaurant, Me Gusta Comer (I like to eat). Teo suggested we take a seat by the roaring stove fire and relax. Why not. Following his direction, after a 5 hour long …

Which Camino Should I Walk? The Camino Frances Or?

Frances may be my favorite but each Pilgrim is unique. The better question to ask is, “Which Camino Is Best For Me?” First of all, it is important to be aware that the Camino de Santiago is a personal journey and there is no right, wrong, best or worst Camino. Do some research and walk …

HOW THE VIA DE LA PLATA IS DIFFERENT FROM THE CAMINO FRANCES:

This is one peregrino’s perspective so biased but I also talked with many other VDLP and Frances peregrino’s to confirm these points. The intent is to give Camino Frances veterans a sense of How The Camino Via de la Plata is different from Camino Frances: 1. Longer: Via de la Plata (VDLP) is 1000 kilometers …
