IT’S A SMALL WORLD-Camino to Ireland to Camino

Camino Frances to Ireland To Camino Portuguese:

The Joy of meeting an old friend or previous Camino friend while walking The Camino.

I’ve heard of this happening but never to me until today on my 65th day of my 2016 Camino from Le Puy en Velay, France to Santiago and on to Porto, Portugal.

Irish Camino buddies Jimmy Morrisey and John Nolan in 2015 on Camino Frances.

I was walking through a forest, 10K south of Padron or 35K south of Santiago when I see Jimmy Morrissey and Mick Kielthy of Wexford, Ireland. I met Jimmy and his pal John Nolan several times during last year’s Camino and then we had a chance meeting in Muxia at the end of our Pilgrimage. We had dinner that night and their other friend Mick and his wife Helen dined with us as well.

I arrived in Europe in early April this year and did an Irish Camino that took me through Wexford where I met John Nolan and Mick in a pub for a few pints.

What a wonderful reunion and best of all I am walking to Porto and will arrive on 6 Oct and they fly home from Porto on the 7th so we will dine together once again before we all head home.
