Canterbury to Rome to Assisi Day 94 Poggio San Bustone to Piediluco:

Beautiful nature all day and an unexpected meeting with a local, Giovanni, just before Labro. He has walked many pilgrimages and encouraged me to complete all of Via Francesco and the southern Via Francigena from Rome to Santa Maria di Leuca. Yes why not.

Walking into Piediluco it is beautiful on the shore of Lake Piediluco. Sitting on the shore, nursing a Sangiovese Red. Life is Good!

IÂ spent the night in Piediluco a guest of the parish at the church of San Francesco. Don Giovanni the parish priest kindly checked me in and explained all I needed to know.
Once again, I am alone which suits me just fine. Walking Via Francesco is perfect for internal reflection. He invited me to 5PM Mass and when he told me it was not obligatory I felt I should attend.

These photos … !!!
You are half-way to Heaven!!
I am sooo jealous!
Enjoy every minute of every day.
What a wonderful escape from our crazy, confused, wounded & weary world!
May the road continue to rise with you Kevin … go neiri an bothar leat! 😇
What a beautiful walk! Do you find it necessary to be somewhat fluent in Italian in order to secure lodging?
I know a wee bit of Spanish but almost no Italian. Makes it a little difficult but totally doable. With apps such as booking.com and Hostelworld, etc. it is easier. Also you find the people on these pilgrimages very kind and they often will call ahead for you to make a reservation for the next day.
Thanks for the informaiton.
