VIA FRANCIGENA: Canterbury to Rome Day 16

Laon to Corbeny. Drive to Reims.

Reims Cathedral during nightly summer light show

We could not find accommodation in Corbeny so our friend Patrick Puech from Reims came and picked us up and took us to his house.

After the 10 days or so of intense heat this was a Camino blessing. A chance to get some rest and be treated as VIP’s by Patrick and his wife Pascale.

Patrick and I met on FB OHenro San (Japan 88 Temple Pilgrimage) Site last year when Mika and I walked that pilgrimage in May and Patrick afterwards.

A few months later on August 15 after finishing a Camino De Santiago I was sitting on the ground in Plaza de Cervantes near the Cathedral listening to some violinists when some guy walked up and asked if I was Kevin. Patrick recognized me from my posts.

A year later on August 15 Patrick picked Mika and I up at a time we clearly needed help and some R&R.

Why not spend 2 nights recuperating and drinking plenty of champagne in Champagne Region with Patrick and Pascale.
