Day 41 Osieres to Bourg-St.-Pierre:

Another beautiful walk in the Alps.

Not long at 14K but a significant elevation rise of 1000 meters.

There seem to be a few more pilgrims on the Way.

In France we saw a few the first week but just one or two since.

In Montreux we ran into two Germans, Gordon and Andreas who we stayed with at Abbey St. Maurice.

Then today we stopped at a viewpoint above Osieres and met Alain 71 from Dijon. Like me a Camino junkie so we had lots to talk about.

For the first time in 6 weeks we walked on in the company of a fellow pilgrim. Though we took a wrong turn that found us scrambling up a steep mountainside getting back to the trail with several cuts and exhausted. Impressed with Alain. We lost him later in the day but hopefully will see him soon.

Reached the very nice Hotel Bivouac Napolean where supposedly Napolean camped with his army.
