Day 45 Chatillon to Verrès:

Verres with a 14th century fortress up the hill.

I thought this would be easier at 19.5 but it wasn’t.

I suppose it following a tough day made it harder.

And that last long hill climb before Verrès was a challenge in the hot 28C sun.

And constant ups and downs.

Leaving Chatillon we continued east down the Aoste Valley and then at Saint-Vincent it turned due south. {CAPTION}

For the first time in over a week we didn’t see any other pilgrims while walking but late in the day the two young university students, Barbara and Selene from Trento, Italy showed up at our Hotel il Casello.
