Days 31: Chapelle des Buis to Vuillafans
Day 32: Vuillafans to Pontarlier

After a long stretch it is wonderful to be in the forests and mountains as we approach Switzerland.
Loved the changing terrain going from corn fields and flat rolling hills to the Jura Mountains following the Loue River to its source.
Be careful what you wish for as it was a long tough walk up the mountain. But I was so grateful to be back in the hills.
A little bit of rain slowed us down a bit. Right when it started we came to a clearing in a forest to find a shelter with chairs. The pilgrim spirits are being kind.

The next day’s walk to Pontarlier brought blue skies as we ventured higher into the mountains.

It was Sunday afternoon in Vuillafans when we arrived and the host at our hostel told us to hurry to the local restaurant and not only was it open. The people were friendly. The waiter couldn’t be more helpful and steered us to the daily four course special.
