IT’S A LONG WAY FROM TIPPERARY TO SANTIAGO. DAYS 127-128.
Another quiet early morning walk eventually taking me to coast for brilliant sunrise.
Walked into Cuerres where I was welcomed so nicely by Sandra at Reposo del Andayón.
Sandra is a Camino buddy from last year’s Camino Primitivo.
The albergue is closed for the season so Sandra set me up in the hospitalero room with cover sheet and nice thick towel and she washed my clothes and helped me hang them up. What luxury and such a nice gesture.
Then walked with Inook and her friend Paco from Mallorca along river trail to near beach for wonderful lunch of corn bread, meat and eggs. Reposo del Andayon is a wonderful quiet albergue with beautiful facilities and a great view from their comfortable porch. The donativo albergue is funded by the attached Inn where the owner, Katrina, offers upscale rooms to tourists.
Woke up late and enjoyed tea as I can’t leave this luxurious accommodation and VIP service from Sandra.
We drove to beach and walk and then wonderful luncheon with Katrina and her staff and family. Then another walk on beach with just Katrine and me and Inook.
