Camino Side Trips-Ribeira Sacra Wine Road Trip In Galicia.

The steep Rio Sil Valley

After a chance encounter with fellow American and Camino buddy Sue Duffy we went out on an unplanned, in the flow road trip in Galicia.

We ended up at an up and coming wine region, Ribeira Sacra around Sober (love the name), not too far south of Sarria and the Camino de Santiago (Frances).

Some of the vines here date back to the Romans planting them back perhaps 2,000 years ago. The steep Sil River Valley is beautiful. Not too far east another Camino, The Invierno(Winter) follows the Sil. Of course we stopped for a fabulous lunch and some great wine at
