Day 3 Xativa to Moixent 28K

The humidity of the coastal plains is giving way to the foothills of the mountains with olive and almond orchards as well as beautiful sunflower fields. The municipal albergue above the police station in Moixent was closed due to Covid. The kind police officer made some calls for us but the only accommodation we could find was €100. I was too hot and tired to look any futher. We got a whole house with huge TV where we watched the Olympics and sipped on a good Rioja.

Day 4 Moixent to La Font de la Figuera 17K

We decided to slow down a bit in this heat. Thinking how different this Camino is with no other pilgrims around. Not a bad thing. Just different from our days last week on the Camino Frances where we saw 50 plus each day. Gives one the opportunity to search within.

The distance between towns caused us to end our day after just 17K which was probably a good thing as the temperature was soaring today to 37C/100F. Got a room at Hostal Amable (€60) which was indeed a friendly place and best of all they had a small swimming pool. Heavenly on such a hot day. Mika was too hot to eat so I strolled on down to Bar Nou at the recommendation of the Hostal Owner. The owners and patrons were very friendly to this pilgrim and we had some good laughs with their questioning my sanity walking in this heat. They had an excellent Menu del Dia and a full bottle of very good local wine.

Back in Spain 😍Too hot though slow down!!!and whatever Mika was snacking on looked good 😀
That was last July. Around 65F now. Pleasant. Hope you are feeling 100%.😊👣
