St. Martin de Tours Church

Another wonderful walk passing through Arnad early and enjoying the tranquility of the 11th Century Romanesque Church of St. Martin de Tours.

The Bridge after Arnad

Shortly after leaving Arnad we crossed a bridge that reminded me of the bridge in Puente La Reina on Camino Frances.

Fortress of Bard

Then in Bard we ran into our two young Italian friends and we hiked up together to the top of the Fortress of Bard.

Napoleanś view from Fortress of Bard

Here Napolean’s surprise invasion of Italy was delayed by 14 days by 400 men armed with 20 cannon.

The Avengers in Bard

We had a laugh when near the top we came across big statues of The Hulk, Ironman, and Captin America. Evidently they filmed part of Avengers II here.

Walking along the Roman Road approaching the Arch of Donnes

Just before Pont St. Martin we walked under the incredible Roman Arch in Donnas.

We said goodbye to our Italian friends in Pont St. Martin enjoying the beautiful Roman bridge there.

View from our AirB&B room in Carema hosted by Guizy. She even left all kind of food which is perfect for hungry pilgrims.

We continued on to the small hillside village of Carema where we stayed right on the VF at Casa La Foriana offering a balcony with a view of the valley below.

One of our favorite and best value accomodation so far.
